Certified Medical Assistant Program (CMA)
About Our Program
This program is designed to train students to become professional and compassionate Certified Clinical Medical Assistants (CCMAs). Graduates are prepared for employment in physician offices, hospitals, and other healthcare facilities. Students gain skills in both clinical and administrative medical office procedures, including:

Taking patient vital signs and medical histories

Administering injections and medications

Performing EKGs, phlebotomy, and lab procedures

Assisting healthcare providers during exams

Managing patient records and electronic health systems
Program Structure:
400 Hours Didactic/Lab Instruction

Monday–Wednesday: Zoom Online, 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM

Thursday: In-person Lab at First Lady Permanente, 901 Geer Rd, Turlock
80 Hours Externship - Student-selected site, school-approved
Program Duration - Approximately 6 to 8 months
Admission Requirements

You must be 18 years of age or older.

You must be a high school graduate or possess a high school equivalency certificate. Foreign academic transcripts must be translated and evaluated by a school-approved entity – this applies to applicants with transcripts from foreign countries ONLY.

You must provide a valid photo ID and Social Security Card.

You must attend a mandatory information session.

You must meet the reading assessment requirement.

You must pass and maintain a clean criminal background check and maintain a clean drug screening.

You must complete a physical exam and submit proof of required immunizations (Hep B, MMR, Varicella, Tdap, TB, Flu).

You must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or exemption as required by externship sites.
Program Costs
Enrollment Fee: $200 (non-refundable, paid to Patterson Adult School)
